2018 Kittatinny Players Summer Theater Camps

Your child will be instructed by the directors and top student performers/crew members of the Kittatinny Players.

The camper will be educated in the various elements of theater practices specific to each theater camp that will lead up to a performance to demonstrate the skills developed throughout the week.  We provide small group instruction with directors for scene breakdowns and back stage management. On Friday, July 20 at 3:00pm, the campers will perform various scenes and dance routines to demonstrate the week’s lessons.

Campers will have access to bottled water provided by the camp at all times. Snack time is provided but snacks are not supplied. Lunch will be provided on Friday, which will consist of pizza, chips, dessert and beverage. Each camper will also receive a        camp t-shirt.

All camps will take place from July 16th - 20th

THEATER CAMP: This camp provides the perfect balance of theater education, performance and fun. During this camp, campers will go through specific workshops at the beginning of the week to help establish the basic skills required to perform on stage. As the week progresses, your child will begin creating their own character as they work toward putting on a performance at the end of the week.

DANCE CAMP: Learn from the area’s top High School Musical choreographer. The camp will start off perfecting the basic musical dance steps and integrate more difficult moves by the end of the week’s dance performance. From the Kittatinny Player’s show library to the latest on Broadway, your dancer will have fun being exposed to musical dance.

TECHNICAL THEATER CAMP: New for this year, this camp exposes children to the magic of backstage theater. Learn the basics of sound, lighting, set design and much more, as these campers will create the set of our performance at the end of the week. These kids will run the lighting, sound and set changes of the camp performance.

“A ONE ACT PLAY”: For our advanced thespians looking to continue to perfect their craft for future HS shows and beyond, this intense theatrical camp will surely challenge and push each camper to become better actors/actresses. From the audition process to character building to performance techniques, this week will surely help for future roles.
